With just one more semi-final team to be decided, following Germany and Italy's epic shootout on Saturday night, we collate our best Euro 2016 content from the previous 24 hours. For all the latest news, match reports, analysis, and much more, visit our Euro 2016 microsite.
1 – Italy hoodoo ended
It took an epic shootout – an ugly shootout, frankly – but Germany finally proved the team to reach the Euro 2016 semi-finals. Richard Jolly writes that, in the most unorthodox way possible, the Germans finally got over their Italian hump:
“Three Germans failed from 12 yards, but their team prevailed. They advance. They won the tie of the round. Unlike in 1970, 1982, 2006 and 2012, they saw off the Azzurri.
“Italy had been their rivals for the title of the team of the tournament, but they exit the tournament.”
2 – Conquering hordes
Stores are running out of shirts, and flights are running out of seats. Read about Iceland's suddenly football-rabid fans, as seemingly every last citizen in the nation of just 330,000 is caught up in Euro 2016 euphoria:
“Very few people here thought the team would knock out England and reach the last eight of the tournament.
“And they are enjoying every second of it.
“The fan zone in Reykjavik will be extended again for Sunday’s match to allow up to 30,000 people, or one tenth of the population of the country, to watch.”
3 – Training
Giants on home soil against minnows who aren’t shrinking from the moment. Before Iceland and France meet up on Sunday night, they were working on Saturday to tighten up any flaws that could result in their exit on Sunday.
Take a look at Iceland's training session in Annecy, and France's at their Clairefontaine home base outside Paris ahead of the Stade de France showdown.
4 – Who are you calling lucky?
France have had a, well, let’s call it less taxing path to the last eight than some of their peers. Ian Hawkey notes that, in theory, their string of manageable opponents continues with the previously little-fancied Icelanders.
But, as Patrice Evra says, “I think we should stop with that idea straight away.”
Writes Hawkey: "The prospect of an ambush – two goals in 12 first-half minutes – like Iceland pulled off against England requires vigilance, and there are problems with the French armour."
5 – Conte’s job complete
While Italy may have lacked star names on the pitch, "the man guiding them on the touchline is among the best in the world. Conte created a national team that played like a club side, with every player fully aware of his role, his responsibilities and the overriding game plan."
