1 Joao Moutinho (Portugal)
As a youngster, it seemed only a matter of time before the diminutive midfielder made a move to one of Europe's big names. Instead he switched from Sporting Lisbon to bitter rivals Porto in 2010. This could be his tournament, with his passing range and ability to keep possession two major attributes.
2 Marco Reus (Germany)
The attacking midfielder could be a key impact player for Germany from the bench. His 18 league goals had Borussia Monchengladbach challenging for the Bundesliga title for most of the season and earned him a big-money move to the champions Borussia Dortmund, where he started his career.
3 Christian Eriksen (Denmark)
Here is a player who will be a household name in years to come. Fresh from leading Ajax to the Dutch title with a run of 13 consecutive wins, Eriksen will be Denmark's main creative force. He assisted in 19 league goals this season and no less than Johan Cruyff has compared him to Denmark's great Laudrup brothers.
4 Ibrahim Afellay (Holland)
The dynamic winger will be expected to provide ammunition for the likes of Robin van Persie. Unlike most of the players at this tournament, he will be fresh having spent the season injured at Barcelona. That could see him emerge as one of the stars.

Hydrogen has an estimated $11 trillion market potential, according to Bank of America Securities and is expected to generate $2.5tn in direct revenues and $11tn of indirect infrastructure by 2050 as its production increases six-fold.
