AL AIN // Dibba Al Fujairah are learning just how tough life can be in the country's top flight competition.

They have just one point from four league games and play their home matches at Al Ain's Khalifa bin Zayed stadium, which involves a six-hour round trip of more than 400-kilometres.

As a result they did not have any fans to support them last night and only about a thousand diehard Al Ain supporters made their way to the Garden City club's second stadium to watch their team claim a 5-1 win.

Marcelo Cabo, the Dibba coach, is aware of the problems but thinks the experience will eventually pay off.

"I think everyone is aware of our situation," the Brazilian said. "We are playing in the Pro League for the first time and also the disadvantage of playing far away from our home. But I am hopeful things will improve for us.

"We were playing Al Ain and we must be realistic. The early goal put us under pressure straightaway and then three goals in five minutes killed the game.

"Still we did better in the second half to hold them to 1-1. We were more organised and managed to score, this is something positive we can take from this game."

Jires Kembo Ekoko scored the opening goal when he picked up a through pass, drew out Mohammed Al Rowaihy, the Dibba goalkeeper, and finished with a deft shot.

There were a couple of near misses from Ekoko and Alex Brosque, both 10 yards, before Asamoah Gyan doubled the lead with a spectacular header off a Mohammed Salem cross in the 38th minute.

Brosque added a third two minutes later and Gyan scored his second in the next minute for the defending champions to go into the break with a four-goal advantage.

Brosque put them further ahead in the second half, finishing off an excellent exchange of passes with Gyan, before stabbing it past a hapless Al Rowaihy.

Alex, the Brazilian forward, scored a consolation goal for Dibba after he was felled by Salem, who received a straight red for the foul.

Dibba were also reduced to 10 players when Junior, the Brazilian defender, was given the marching orders for elbowing Fawzi Fayez in the penalty area but the ensuing spot kick from Gyan crashed against the crossbar.

Al Ain toyed with their opponents trying out all types of fancy passes as they enjoyed both possession and territory throughout the 90 minutes.

Cosmin Olaroiu, the Al Ain coach, said they achieved their objective of winning three points and were able to provide some entertainment for the fans.

The Romanian also made special mention on Bruno Metsu, the Al Wasl coach who is being treated for an illness.

"Football takes a back seat when it comes to such matters," he said. "I wish him a very quick recovery and would like to see him back when we meet Wasl."
