McCullum century gives Chennai two out of two
Chennai 209-4, 20 ov (McCullum 100 n.o., Dhoni 53; Boult 1-34)
Hyderabad 164-6, 20 ov (Warner 53, Bravo 2-25; Mohit 2-36)
Brendon McCullum put his World Cup final disappointment behind him to score 100 off just 56 balls in Chennai’s 45-run win over Hyderabad. McCullum, who gave New Zealand brisk starts throughout the World Cup, hit seven sixes and nine fours as the home team finished on 209 for four.

Hyderabad never looked like winning what was a one-sided game on Saturday.

Bangalore 179-7, 19 ov (Gayle 96, De Villiers 28; Pathan 2-40)

The West Indies batsman, who reached 7,000 runs in his Twenty20 career, punished the home team’s bowling for being dropped twice before being run out.
Earlier in the evening, Kolkata notched what looked like a competitive total on the back of another fifty from captain Gautam Gambhir.
