Godolphin has won this race twice - the first time with Mark Of Esteem in 1996 and with Island Sands in 1999.

Fraser had surgery three months ago after having lost feeling in his right arm. "If I had not had the operation, I would never have played golf again," he said. "I probably would have lost the use of my right arm."
