ABU DHABI // The Al Jazira midfielder Sultan Bargash has sprung to the defence of his coach Luis Milla, who has come under fire after just three games at the club.
Bargash has urged the fans to show solidarity to the team and the coach when they meet Al Shabab of Saudi Arabia in Tuesday night's Asian Champions League Group A match at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium.
"What we need at this moment is to find solutions and not excuses. For that, we need a collective effort from every one," Bargash said at the pre-match press conference on Monday.
"As players we have to do our part well to help the coach. We want to forget the past results and look ahead if we are looking for a good result from this game and we are confident to achieve that."
Milla's first game in charge ended in a 3-1 defeat to Tractor Sazi of Iran in the Champions League, they then lost 1-0 to the leaders Al Ain and drew 3-3 with Dibba Al Fujairah in the Pro League.
"The draw against Dibba was a bit disappointing after two good efforts in the earlier games," Milla said.
"We have sorted out some of the problems we have had in that game and now look ahead for a better result against Shabab.
"As we told earlier, we will put maximum effort in the ACL. We are facing a strong opponent.
"They play a compact game and will try unsettle us at the beginning."
Michel Preud'homme, the Shabab coach, believes a new coach can sometimes be an advantage and sometimes not.
"When a club makes the decision to change the coach they feel they can do better," the Belgian said.
"Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I realised when I analysed some games the tactics changed.
"I saw them play a lot of games they played in a 4-4-2 in a diamond under the old coach [Paulo Bonamigo] and now I see more of 4-3-2-1 tactic used by Milla."

Where to donate in the UAE
You can donate to several registered charities through a “donation catalogue”. The use of the donation is quite specific, such as buying a fan for a poor family in Niger for Dh130.
The General Authority of Islamic Affairs & Endowments

Dubai Cares provides several options for individuals and companies to donate, including online, through banks, at retail outlets, via phone and by purchasing Dubai Cares branded merchandise. It is currently running a campaign called Bookings 2030, which allows people to help change the future of six underprivileged children and young people.
Those who travel on Emirates have undoubtedly seen the little donation envelopes in the seat pockets. But the foundation also accepts donations online and in the form of Skywards Miles. Donated miles are used to sponsor travel for doctors, surgeons, engineers and other professionals volunteering on humanitarian missions around the world.
On the Emirates Red Crescent website you can choose between 35 different purposes for your donation, such as providing food for fasters, supporting debtors and contributing to a refugee women fund. It also has a list of bank accounts for each donation type.
Gulf for Good raises funds for partner charity projects through challenges, like climbing Kilimanjaro and cycling through Thailand. This year’s projects are in partnership with Street Child Nepal, Larchfield Kids, the Foundation for African Empowerment and SOS Children's Villages. Since 2001, the organisation has raised more than $3.5 million (Dh12.8m) in support of over 50 children’s charities.

How the bonus system works
The two riders are among several riders in the UAE to receive the top payment of £10,000 under the Thank You Fund of £16 million (Dh80m), which was announced in conjunction with Deliveroo's £8 billion (Dh40bn) stock market listing earlier this year.
The £10,000 (Dh50,000) payment is made to those riders who have completed the highest number of orders in each market.
There are also riders who will receive payments of £1,000 (Dh5,000) and £500 (Dh2,500).
All riders who have worked with Deliveroo for at least one year and completed 2,000 orders will receive £200 (Dh1,000), the company said when it announced the scheme.
