ABU DHABI // Al Wahda have opened talks with the Turkish club Bursaspor regarding the potential transfer of Hungary captain Balazs Dzsudzsak to replace injured Brazilian midfielder Denilson.

A club source confirmed talks have begun with both the Turkish club and the 29-year-old winger, who is currently in France with the Hungary national team for Euro 2016, starting Friday.

Dzsudzsak moved to Turkey in 2015 after spending a year at Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala and two seasons at Dynamo Moscow. He also spent three years at Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven before moving to Russia after beginning his career at local side Debreceni in 2004. Dzsudzsak has represented his country 78 times since making his debut in 2007.

Wahda have switched their attentions to Dzsudzsak after failing in their bid to bring in Al Ahli’s Brazilian forward Ciel, with the Arabian Gulf Cup champions pulling out of the deal after concerns were raised during the player’s medical examination.

Denilson, who arrived at Wahda on a three-year deal in 2015, underwent knee surgery at the Arabian Gulf League season’s conclusion and there are fears he may miss the start of the 2016/17 campaign.

Wahda finished third in the league to clinch a place in the 2017 Asian Champions League play-off.
