Some people complain that there is not enough to see and do in Abu Dhabi, but this weekend shows that nothing could be further from the truth. Particularly at this time of year, now that the weather is near perfect, there is so much to enjoy.
The running season officially starts today with the Abu Dhabi half marathon on Yas Island. Then there is Abu Dhabi Art at Manarat Al Saadiyat and Warehouse421, the latest addition to the capital’s cultural scene. Emirati heritage will be on display at the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival in Al Wathba until December 12, while at the other end of the cultural spectrum there is the Mötley Crüe concert tonight.
What is most impressive is that if this weekend’s options seem vast, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and National Day celebrations in the coming weeks will crank those choices up by several orders of magnitude. We should all get out there and take advantage. After all, winter won’t last forever.
