Ramadan is when the competition between television channels in the Middle East intensifies. We are in the middle of that season and people have already taken to social media to give their verdict on the most successful Ramadan series.
So which one is it? So far it appears to be the drama, Khiyanat Watan (The Betrayal of a Country), followed by Al Qaysar (The Caesar), Grand Hotel and Al Ostoora (The Legend).
Unfortunately, not everyone can watch them. Guess why? Because some of the viewers are taking school exams. Yet all of them are taking part in a lively discussion about the series. “How can we give a verdict on the most-watched show just yet,” asked one student.
Others have advised against wasting time in front of the television.
This time ought to be spent in prayers and other things divine. Others have pointed out that there would be many opportunities to see these programmes after Ramadan.
Interestingly, a group of people think that none of these shows is interesting, while another group wants these to be more realistic and represent events from our day-to-day life.
