With the opening of Legoland Dubai, the future seems bright for theme park devotees. As The National reported yesterday, the sheer scale of the model replicas of the emirate’s major landmarks – from the Marina and Downtown, to DIFC and the Burj Khalifa – wowed visitors.
Legoland’s model buildings make visitors view the Dubai landscape in a new way. The same process is at work in Visit Abu Dhabi’s new marketing campaign. While the assembled video footage seeks to attract more foreign visitors to the emirate’s undoubted attractions, its beautifully shot scenes also serve to remind residents of the wonders on their doorstep: from the majestic Grand Mosque, to the historic presence of Qasr Al Hosn and the flowing lines of Sheikh Zayed Bridge.
As the weather cools, perhaps now is the time to reconnect with the city you call home and explore once more the many attractions on offer. Your journey will not be wasted.
