President Sheikh Mohamed on Monday received a phone call from Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The two leaders discussed bilateral relations between the UAE and Turkey and explored ways to expand co-operation, state news agency Wam reported.
The call placed a particular emphasis on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with the two men stressing the need to uphold the ceasefire, ensure the uninterrupted delivery of adequate humanitarian aid and ease civilian suffering.
Sheikh Mohamed and Mr Erdogan also underlined the importance of intensifying efforts to achieve a lasting peace based on the two-state solution. They said this was the only viable path to long-term stability, security and a better future for the region and its people.
In July, Sheikh Mohamed held talks with Mr Erdogan during a state visit to Turkey. Here, the two men discussed ways to develop co-operation between the two countries within the framework of their comprehensive economic partnership.
Reflecting on the meeting at the time, Sheikh Mohamed wrote on X: “The UAE and Turkey share a vision of strengthening regional peace and stability through diplomacy, and we remain committed to working together to achieve lasting development and prosperity for the region’s peoples.”
