Dr Kiran Mehndiratta, consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist, and her team assisted Mahalakshmi Mariap in giving birth to her first child, Mahalakshmi.
RAK Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah welcomed the first baby of this year, a girl named Shamma, born at 6:28am. She is the first child of proud Emirati parents, Mr Hussein Alshahabi and his wife, and weighed 3.4kg at birth. The delivery was attended by Dr Lalitha Kamini, specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology.
