Israeli soldiers pushed what appeared to be the bodies of three Palestinian men off a rooftop, footage shows. The incident happened in Qabatiya, in the north of the occupied West Bank.

A video of the incident began to be circulated late on Thursday and the Israeli army said it had opened an investigation. Three soldiers were involved in the incident, AP reported.

The bodies were moved using a military bulldozer, the Wafa news agency reported.

“This is a serious incident that does not coincide with IDF values and the expectations from IDF soldiers. The incident is under review," the army said on Friday.

Violence in the West Bank has increased sharply since the start of the Gaza war on October 7, with almost daily Israeli military operations, attacks by militants and incidents of far-right Israeli settler violence against Palestinians. About 700 Palestinians have been killed in the past year.

The military raids have involved drone strikes, while medical workers have been prevented from reaching those in need of treatment. Armoured bulldozers have also been used to tear up roads.

The army said at least four militants were killed in the raid on Qabatiya, but Wafa reported the death toll was seven. Two other men and a child were killed earlier in the day and there was also “a drone attack with a missile near the cafe complex in the centre of the town", the agency added.

Last month, the UN said 115 children had been killed in violence in the West Bank since October 7, with 1,500 injured. The death toll was nearly twice that of the previous 12 months, when violence had increased amid a rise in Israeli government approvals for settlement construction.
