Paris-born, Tunisian accessories designer, Shourouk, is known for her bizarre-but-beautiful approach to design. The brand's Instagram account is proof — scroll through and you'll see bejewelled Starbucks coffee cups and Arabic Coca Cola cans, along with a whole bunch of remarkable brooches, bracelets and necklaces that combine crystals, beads and tassels.
Shourouk’s latest collection, called Dating with Pharaohs, is inspired by Egyptian mythology. Glass beads are used to portray intricate cross-stitch effects, forming icons like evil eyes, flowers and Pharaohs. Other pieces show decadent layers of beads and pearls mixed with clear and coloured crystals.
There’s also an eyewear range in the collection, featuring cat-eye sunglasses created in collaboration with French brand Peter & May Walk. The oversized frames are decorated with Art Deco-themed beads, giving off a modern Cleopatra vibe.
Pieces from Shourouk's Dating with Pharaohs are now available online and at S*uce shops in the UAE. Pop in and grab your favourite design while stock lasts — we're pretty sure that the colourful beaded chokers will sell out fast.
