Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their healthy baby boy at 5.26am UK time on May 6. The world has already seen a delighted Prince Harry say the new arrival is "absolutely to die for, so I’m just over the moon". But we have yet to get a first look at Baby Sussex.

From his name, to his title and when we'll get our first glimpse, we answer all of your burning questions about the brand new royal.

When will be see him?

When a visibly delighted Prince Harry greeted the media on Monday, hours after his son's arrival, he promised that the family of three would step out together for a photocall on Wednesday, May 8.

The new dad told reporters they would “share it with you guys and so everyone can see the baby”.

The exact time has not been confirmed, but it will be covered by American network, CBS, as well as British broadcasters. According to a royal source it is to "reflect the international interest in the story". CBS is a network fronted by one of the new mum's close friends, Gayle King. She covered the couple's May 2018 wedding for the network.

What will he be called?

There is no official word on the name yet. Prince Harry hinted that a name would be revealed when they came out on Wednesday.

Traditional British names like Arthur, Alexander and Philip have been hot favourites. But there is a new royal rumour that the couple have chosen a more "unusual name" that works well in both the UK and USA.

Royal expert, Victoria Arbiter, weighed in, saying: "I also think we are going to see a name that works on both sides of the pond.

"When we come to boys, Alexandra is Queen Elizabeth II's middle name, Alexander is the masculine form [and] Alexander Hamilton is one of the founding fathers in the US. So I think there are a lot of names here that work with the British royal family tree but also have strong roots in the US."

What will his title be?

It is not thought that the tot will be a prince. It is expected that he will inherit the title, Earl of Dumbarton, one of the titles Harry's grandmother, the Queen, granted him before his wedding last year. As well as the Duke of Sussex, which he most commonly is known as, Harry was also named Earl of Dumbarton in Scotland and Baron Kilkeel in Northern Ireland.

"As the son of a duke, the royal baby is entitled to use one of Harry's lesser titles as a courtesy title. He will also one day inherit the title, the Duke of Sussex, from Harry," Hello! magazine reported.

Why won't he be a prince?

This is where it gets a little complicated. Despite being seventh in line to the throne, only the oldest son of the Prince of Wales’s oldest son is automatically named a prince, according to King George V’s 1917 decree. That is currently Prince George.

However, before Prince George's birth, the Queen changed the law in December 2013, declaring that all of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's children would hold HRH titles and be known as princes and princesses. The new law doesn't extend to Prince Harry's children.

However, that said, the Queen could still step in and change the law once again for the royal newborn.

What are his family saying?

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended their first official engagement since Prince William's brother welcomed his baby boy, and they too seemed to be bursting with excitement.

William told reporters he was happy for his brother. Adding, "[I'm an] uncle second time for me, and you." Before pointing to wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, which prompted her to laugh, "I am definitely not an uncle!"

They seem to have not yet met the tot, as William told another reporter he was "looking forward" to meeting his nephew "in the next few days" when "things have quieted down."

The father-of-three also joked: "I'm very pleased and glad to welcome my own brother into the sleep deprivation society that is parenting."

Kate then added: "It's such a great time of year to have a baby, spring is in the air … As William said, we're looking forward to meeting him and finding out what his name's going to be so it's really exciting for both of them and we wish them all the best."

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have two spring babies. Princess Charlotte was born on May 2, 2015, and Prince Louis was born on April 23, 2018.

Other family members have sent their best wishes.

Prince Harry's uncle, Earl Charles Spencer, tweeted: "Really very lovely news today — many, many, congratulations! (Good to have another Taurean in the family....)".

Meghan Markle's mother, Doria Ragland, is said to be by her daughter's side, but has yet to make an official statement. However, Meghan's estranged father, Thomas Markle, 74, released a statement.

"I'm delighted to hear that mother and child are doing well. I am proud that my new grandson is born into the British royal family and I am sure that he will grow up to serve the crown and the people of Britain with grace, dignity, and honour," Markle's statement read.

"God bless the child and I wish him health and happiness, and my congratulations to my lovely daughter Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry, and God save the Queen."

How have Harry and Meghan broken tradition?

It is, by now, well known that Harry and Meghan don't always stick to royal tradition.

They bucked protocol by officially announcing the birth on Instagram, and Prince Harry's very informal news conference also made for a new tradition.

Harry also proved himself to be every part the modern man, thanking his wife during the press conference.

"Mother and baby are doing incredibly well," he said. "It’s been the most amazing experience I can ever possibly imagine. How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension, and we’re both absolutely thrilled."

The couple have also done something new by making sure the Spencers, the siblings of the late Princess Diana, were included in their official statement.

"The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer have been informed and are delighted with the news," – the last three are Harry's aunts and uncles, on his mother's side.
