It is not long now until the Dubai Fitness Challenge kicks off, and as if 30 days of wellness and fitness-focused activities aren't enough to look forward to, a visit from The Body Coach, Joe Wicks, has been announced.
The popular trainer is set to lead a record-breaking fitness class. Wicks and a troop of fitness fans will attempt Guinness World Record for the world's largest group HIIT workout.
The record breaking sweat-fest is due to take place on Saturday, October 26; the location has not yet been announced.
Wicks is known for his popular Lean in 15 method and Instagram account, which offers up a diverse range of healthy recipes every day. He has also penned a series of Lean in 15 cookery books.
He is the currently the record holder for the largest high-intensity interval training class, which saw 3,804 people turn out in London, England in July 2017. The workout took part during the British Summer Time Hyde Park festival.
We assume he'll be aiming for more than 4,000 participants to break his record in Dubai.
Wicks has attended the Dubai Fitness Challenge once before, headlining the the Sun and Sand Sports Fitness Fest in November 2016.
The Dubai Fitness Challenge is a wellness initiative, championed by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai. Now in its third year, it will kick off on Friday, October 18, and end on Saturday, November 16. Expect 30 days of active events, sports, health and wellness programmes and more.
The event encourages participants to do at least 30 minutes of active exercise every day for 30 days.
There is an app to help participants track their activity, and they can also take part in team challenges and set goals for themselves as well as find activities to take part in across the city.
