Buy the newly launched Samsung Gear Fit2 fitness tracker or Gear IconX cord-free earbuds before the end of September and receive a complimentary one-month membership at Fitness First.

The Gear Fit2 has an embedded GPS and heart-rate monitor to track movement and energy expenditure, and provide feedback on the user’s workout. The Gear IconX earbuds fit snugly in the ear and can also track fitness and provide users with feedback on their running performance.

“The Gear Fit2 keeps you connected to important email and text notifications when tethered to your phones, while you can receive calls on the Gear IconX,” explains Tarek Sabbagh, head of IT and Mobile (IM) Division at Samsung Gulf Electronics.

The fitness tracker can detect between running, walking and cycling as well as the rowing and eliptical machines. It can store 4GB of data and is compatible with smartphones running on Android OS 4.4 and above. It comes in three colours (dark grey, blue and pink) and two sizes.

The earbud headphones are activated when placed in the ears and can track distance, speed, duration, heart rate and calories burnt, with a voice guide to provide instant feedback. It also has Bluetooth and an internal storage for up to 1,000 MP3s.

Both devices cost Dh699 and are available at Samsung stores and select retailers, including Sun & Sand Sports.
