Sun Siyam Resorts is currently selling rooms at its three resorts with more than 50 per cent off. Its three properties are the Sun Siyam Iru Fushi Maldives, the Sun Aqua Vilu Reef Maldives and the Olhuveli Beach & Spa. The cheapest, the 4-star Olhuveli Beach & Spa, is currently offering one night’s accommodation and breakfast for up to two adults and two children, from just $273 (Dh1,000) per night including taxes (children under 12 stay and eat for free). This resort is a 45-minute speedboat trip from Male.

40 per cent off at Niyama Private Islands, Dhaalu atoll

The two-island Niyama Private Islands resort in the northern Dhaalu atoll is offering up to 40 per cent off its room rate for online bookings of at least two nights made before September 30th. This means that the price for two people for two nights costs from Dh5,137, including breakfast and taxes, plus a free daily dinner at selected restaurants and one 60 minute spa treatment for two. The resort has 134 rooms and nine restaurants, and guests can choose to be on either the “play” or “chill” island. Getting to this island has become more affordable with the recent opening of Dhaalu Airport on Kudahuvadhoo Island. Round trip flights from Male, including a speed boat transfer to Niyama, cost about $400 per adult (www.niyama.com).
