You may have noticed the Paramount logo along the Business Bay skyline recently – it's attached to the Paramount Hotel Dubai, the first of three hotels due to open in the emirate under the movie company's brand.

The 823-room property is now accepting guests, with suites and rooms spread out over 69 floors. The hotel is currently in soft opening stage, so yes, you can stay there, but its official grand opening (expect a red carpet) is in January 2020.

Inside, there are "scene" and "stage" guest rooms, as well as Paramount and premiere suites. Movie buffs, however, will want to book the themed suites, which take inspiration from specific movies. There's the Charleston Suite, which takes its cues from The Great Gatsby; the Don Corleone suite, which draws on the Godfather; and the Carole suite, which is inspired by Carole Lombard.

There will be eight restaurants or cafes across the hotel, with a focus on Californian fusion cuisine, influenced by the food of the United States, the Pacific Islands and Mexico.

The main restaurant, Pacific Groove, has a raw bar and serves grilled seafood and woodfired steaks, while Flashback is a speakeasy-style cocktail bar. There's also a chocolate cafe called The Cheat, a bakery and cafe called The Craft Table and a pool lounge called Malibu Deck.

One standout feature of the hotel is the screening room, a private dine-in cinema where you can sip on bubbles or sample dishes such as lobster rolls or truffle arancini. The cinema seats 60 people. The hotel also has a co-working space, an outdoor pool and fitness centre, and a spa called Pause.

You can take advantage of a soft opening deal called the Premiere Package. Pay Dh450 for one person, or Dh500 sharing, and you'll get a night's stay with buffet breakfast. The offer is valid until Sunday, December 22.
