The first Legoland Hotel in the Middle East is set to open in Dubai next year.
The new 250-room hotel will open close to the existing Legoland attraction at Dubai Parks and Resorts, and will feature a castle play area, a disco elevator, and Lego models in every room.
The hotel is part of Dubai Parks and Resorts' push to open more than 1,300 new hotel rooms before 2020, with the new Rove Hotel set to open later this year, confirmed DXB Entertainments CEO, Mohamed Almulla.
Legoland has hotels at many of its bigger resorts around the world, including Florida, California and Malaysia.
The Legoland Hotel Dubai is a joint venture between DXB Entertainments and UK-based Merlin Entertainments, which will take charge of the hotel’s operation.
Dubai Parks and Resorts welcomed 760,000 visitors during the first quarter of 2019, down 10.6 per cent from 851,000 visits over the same period in 2018.
“A decline, during the second full-year of operations, is not unusual for a destination such as Dubai Parks and Resorts, which benefited from high penetration of its resident market in 2018, boosted by the introduction of the destination’s first annual pass and competitive resident pricing,” the company said in a statement.
