Second Four Seasons for Seychelles on Desroches Island
Four Seasons is opening its second Seychelles hotel on Desroches Island, a 35-minute flight from the main island of Mahe where it already has one property. The new hotel will open on March 1. The 71 rooms include suites, bungalows and villas, the largest of which has seven bedrooms.
There is a large spa, yoga pavilion, gym and several restaurants. Currently, the Four Seasons is the only hotel on the island. Nightly rates for two people sharing a room cost from €916.50 (Dh3,992), including taxes, breakfast and dinner, for bookings made by December 31, for stays until December 20 next year.
One&Only Le Saint Geran reopens after refurbishment
In Mauritius, the One&Only Le Saint Geran reopened this week after a multi-million-dirham nine-month redesign and refurbishment. Originally opened in 1975, it has one of the island's best locations, on a private peninsula on the north-eastern coast. There are 143 rooms and suites, a private villa, 5 restaurants, a spa, gym and private beach. Rooms cost from €712 (Dh3,101) per night, including taxes.
Redesigned Lux Mauritius in Grand Gaube open again
On the northern coast of Mauritius, Lux Resorts & Hotels is reopening its third hotel on the island, the Lux Grand Gaube, after a Kelly Hoppen-inspired refurbishment. The resort has 186 rooms, suites and villas, six restaurants, a kids' club, gym and spa. It will re-open on December 11. Rooms cost from €391 (Dh1,703) per night, including taxes, room only.
All-Maldivian team launches Fushifaru villa resort
In the northern Lhaviyani Atoll, 49-villa luxury resort Fushifaru Maldives has opened with an all-local staff. The company's first resort on the island is on a channel connecting a lagoon to the ocean, offering snorkelling and deep-water diving in a protected marine area. There are three restaurants, a spa and numerous activities. Villas cost from US$1,600 (Dh5,877) per night for two, including breakfast, seaplane transfers and taxes.
