Flights for Dh10: Etihad launches one-hour seat sale to ring in 2021

The New Year flash sale starts at 11pm on December 31 with tickets on offer to 10 different destinations

Etihad Airways is getting set to say goodbye to 2020 in a big way.

The national airline of the UAE is launching a one-hour flash sale on New Year's Eve with airfares for just Dh10.

At 11pm on Thursday, December 31, Etihad will release 2021 tickets to 10 select destinations. Each of the tickets will sell for just Dh10, excluding taxes and surcharges.

The airline has not yet revealed which destinations will be included in the sale, but if you're hoping to make travelling part of your new year, log on at 11pm to find out where the flights are going.

This is the first time Etihad has offered airfares for such low rates.

Etihad extends complimentary Covid-19 testing for travellers

Travellers flying with Etihad will also continue to receive complimentary Covid-19 tests when flying from Abu Dhabi. The airline has announced that the policy has been extended for travel up to Wednesday, March 31, 2021.

In partnership with Life Dx, Etihad allows guests to book a Covid-19 test before flying. This can be taken at any Life Dx collection facility or in travellers' homes or hotels.

Depending on where people are headed, tests must be taken between 48 and 96 hours ahead of flight departure time. More information is available on Etihad's website.

This does not apply to travellers going to China, who must take a test at an approved clinic.

How to claim your free Covid-19 test with Etihad

1. Book a flight with Etihad Airways for travel before Wednesday, March 31.

2. Check testing times on the airline's website. Travellers flying to Abu Dhabi must arrange their own test before flying, but can take a complimentary test for their return flight.

3. Book a test at a Life Dx facility or book a home visit. This can be done via 600 551 636 or by emailing passengers@lifedx.net.

4. Print the negative test result and present it at check-in before you fly.
