Etihad launches seasonal flights to Malaga in Spain

The airline will operate three flights per week, via Rabat, to the popular Spanish destination

Etihad Airways has announced that it will operate seasonal flights to Malaga in Spain from Friday, June 26 to Sunday, September 13, 2020.

Three flights per week will cater to strong demand from across the UAE and GCC for flights to the Spanish destination, a popular gateway to the province of Andalucía. Malaga, famed as the birthplace of Pablo Picasso, provides easy road access to Spain's Mediterranean coast, including Marbella, and to the historic cities of Seville, Cordoba and Granada.

The route will be operated on the airline’s next-generation 787 Dreamliners and will include a stop in the Moroccan capital, Rabat. This is the airline’s third destination in Spain, joining Madrid and Barcelona.

“Malaga has been on our wish-list for some time and we are tremendously pleased to announce summer season services to the Costa del Sol, a region which for decades has been popular with travellers from across the UAE. This will be the only service between the UAE and the main gateway to Andalucía,” says Robin Kamark, chief commercial officer, Etihad Aviation Group.

The flights will run on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, departing Abu Dhabi at 9.40am and arriving in Malaga at 6.20pm, with a 1 hour 20 minute stopover in Rabat. Return flights from Malaga depart at 7.40pm, arriving in Abu Dhabi at 7.25am the following morning.
