With many families expected to venture overseas this summer, Abu Dhabi International Airport has introduced new features to keep children entertained. The airport has opened two new kids' play areas to help little ones while away the hours before boarding. The area in Terminal 1 includes aviation-themed activities, such as models of planes for children to climb on, a cloud slide and a baggage-tag tunnel, as well as runway-inspired floor mats. The Terminal 3 play area is also airport-themed, with a child-friendly air traffic control tower and a suitcase slide. AUH has also opened five new baby-changing rooms, offering more options for families making their way through the airport. Four are located in Terminal 3: two in the Bus Gates Building; one opposite departure gate number 32; and one near the old bus gate number 28. The fifth can be found in Terminal 1 on the lower-floor women's bathroom. Abu Dhabi Airports introduced changes ahead of an anticipated busy season. "The summer season is a popular time for families to travel, and we are delighted to invite parents and children to visit our new play areas and take advantage of the conveniently located baby-changing rooms across Terminals 1 and 3," said Ahmed Al Shamisi, chief operations officer at Abu Dhabi Airports. The additions follow the airport's unveiling of its Feel Good, Fly AUH campaign, which is offering passengers rewards when they depart on journeys between June and August. Travellers can redeem a free Careem ride to AUH, a Dh100 voucher to be spent in Duty Free, a free VIP Terminal departure with Diamond Lounge access, or seven days of free parking.
