A new shopping season in the UAE's capital is set to run from Wednesday, December 26 to February 5, 2019. The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi has launched the annual Retail Abu Dhabi (RAD) Season, which will see dozens of retailers, malls, restaurants, events and hotels across the emirate offer discounts and deals (or, as they've been named, "Really Awesome Deals").

The Code Red Sale campaign, part of RAD Season, will bring together more than 650 participating retail stores and 18 malls offering discounts of up to 90 per cent off and buy-one-get-one-free deals. There will also be daily, weekly and monthly prize-giving sessions. Restaurants and cafes will be offering special meal deals, while hotels roll out a host of hospitality packages.

"The new RAD Season initiative is the perfect reason for residents and tourists alike to get out into the capital and start shopping," said Saif Ghobash, undersecretary at DCT Abu Dhabi. "Our mall and retail establishments are some of the finest in the world, and are an important facet of Abu Dhabi's economic growth. We trust that these incredible shopping, events, dining and hospitality offers will encourage people to participate and enjoy these deals."
