The basic cotton tee gets a culturally relevant update in this regional fashion collaboration. The UAE-based concept boutique S*uce has teamed up with Tunisian designer Shourouk to create a capsule collection of summer T-shirts. In typical Shourouk style, they are quirky and blingy, spelling out popular Arabic phrases such as "Yallah", "Assal" (honey), "Fil mesh mesh" (In your dreams), and "Habeitak," (I loved you). There are five T-shirts in the range, and they are available in S*uce stores in the UAE and online. Here, Dubai-based sister act Rima and Dina Zahran, who design for their clothing label Dinz, wear two of the T-shirts: The collaboration comes as no surprise, since Shourouk and the co-founder of S*uce, Zayan Ghandour, share a close friendship, and Shourouk has named Ghandour as one of her favourite clothing designers in the world. Shourouk's penchant for beadwork and embellishments knows no limits. In addition to designing statement accessories, she is known to have adorned everyday household items, such as a bottle of spray cleaner and box of cereal with vibrant crystals. In an interview with The National last year, she revealed one of her creative fantasies: "I would love to crystallise the Mona Lisa. Sorry, Leonardo, but, if they allowed me, I don't think I could resist."
