Pop superstar Rihanna was in town on Saturday as she held a masterclass for her popular make-up brand Fenty Beauty at the Armani Hotel in Dubai.
Sharing the stage with her global make-up artists Hector Espinal and Priscilla Ono, the 30-year-old held her first-ever Fenty Beauty Artistry and Beauty Talk in front of a packed-out audience.
The hitmaker shared her tips and tricks on how to get the perfect look using her products and also held a Q&A with audience members. Also making a surprise guest appearance at the event was US-Somali model Halima Aden who had starred in one of the first ads for Fenty Beauty.
Fans in attendance were also in luck as Rihanna unveiled a new ad which announced a new black Stunna lip shade called Uninvited – just in time for Halloween.
Tickets for the event ranged in price from Dh1,000 to Dh7,500 with all proceeds going to the UAE charity Dubai Cares.
Fenty Beauty was launched in September 2017 and found success because of its inclusion of all skin tones especially its wide ranged Pro Filt'R foundation which was produced in 40 different shades.
The brand, which was part of Time magazine’s list of 25 Best Inventions of the Year in 2017, has been credited with enabling many women to find their shade of foundation for the very first time.
Fenty Beauty just celebrated its first birthday. Prior to launching the brand, Rihanna had collaborated with MAC Cosmetics and had released a few fragrances.
This isn’t the first beauty brand launched by a celebrity that’s found success. Reality star Kylie Jenner’s Kylie Cosmetics and Kat Von D Beauty by tattoo artist and fashion designer Kat Von D are examples of other celebrity beauty brands that have done well.
Fenty Beauty can be found in Sephora stores around the UAE.
