British royals Prince William and Kate have renamed their charity, removing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s titles from the foundation.
Documents published by Companies House show the charity will now be known simply as “The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge”.
Prior to the change, the charity was called The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The Royal Foundation was formed by brothers William and Harry in 2009. Kate joined the charity when she married William in 2011.
The renaming marks the final step of the Sussexes' split from the joint charity, to which Meghan was formally added as a partner in June 2018 after her marriage to Harry.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who welcomed their first child Archie Harrison in May, announced in June that they planned to set up their own separate charity, the Sussex Royal Foundation.
The royal couple appointed their first trustee to their new charity, media agency executive Karen Blackett, last week.
The split comes after rumours of a rift between the two couples, first between Meghan and Kate and then between the two brothers.
Palace sources denied a fallout at the time, saying it was “largely about preparing both couples for their future roles, which are obviously on divergent tracks”.
Last week, Harry and Meghan were criticised for their private jet use, despite their championing of environmental causes.
Singer Sir Elton John jumped to their defence, saying he had provided a private plane for the Sussexes' recent visit to his home in France and had paid to compensate for the carbon impact by donating to charity.
Later that week, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge used a British budget airline to take a trip to Scotland with their three children.
