Rolls-Royce brings new Ghost to UAE

ABU DHABI // Abu Dhabi Motors officially unveiled the Rolls-Royce Ghost here on Tuesday, the new, smaller addition to the car maker's lineup. Arno Husselmann, the general manager of the capital's dealership, says that he already has orders for the saloon, of which the first customer cars will arrive in late December. Though he wouldn't say how many, he described the demand as "huge". The Ghost has a 6.6L, twin-turbocharged V8 that outputs 570hp and gets the car to 100kph in 4.7 seconds. It has an eight-speed automatic gearbox and systems such as night vision, multiple surround cameras, head-up display and radar cruise control, making it, as company officials say, the most technically advanced Rolls-Royce ever made. Frank Tiemann, the car maker's head of communications in the Middle East, says the company expects the new line to double the sales of Rolls-Royce next year. Last year, the company sold 1,200 Phantoms, Coupes and Drop-head Coupes worldwide.
