New Lexus GX crunches down in the UAE

Lexus has managed to get its newest model onto UAE soil before the end of the year, with local distributor Al-Futtaim announcing the arrival of the upgraded GX.

The manufacturer is marketing it as the “epitome of rugged refinement”, which is likely to go down well with fans of the brand.

The 2020 GX has a redesigned front fascia, which will apparently enhance both on- and off-road capabilities, and it has a whole new set of interior trim.

That new grille, the company says, better aligns the car with the rest of the Lexus portfolio.

Engine-wise, the GX is unlikely to lack power as it has a 4.6-litre V8, which will generate a smidgen more than 300 horsepower.

The new version has two variants, these being the standard Premier alongside top-of-the-range Platinum option, and the plusher models come with what Lexus refers to as its exclusive sport package.

Prices range from Dh250,000 to Dh295,000.

The GX will join its similarly youthful sibling the RX, which arrived in the UAE in October.
