DETROIT // A nine-year-old Buick Blackhawk concept car was the main attraction of the General Motors Heritage Fleet sale last week. It alone raised $522,500 (Dh 1.92 million) at auction. The Blackhawk convertible concept had been built to showcase Buick's design heritage ahead of the company's 2003 centenary, but failed to make it into production. The sale, which featured more than 200 prototypes, one-offs and show cars, represents around one-fifth of the fleet and was described by GM as normal housekeeping. The company's Heritage Center Collection of 350 "historic" cars remains entirely unaffected by last week's auction.
