Nadia El Dasher A total of 22 brands, including industry leaders Christian Dior, Guerlain, Bulgari and Salvatore Ferragamo, will take part in the Masters of Fragrances exhibition, presenting 26 collectable fragrances. Dior will present its J’adore High Jewellery Edition – 90ml of J’adore L’Or essence encased in a handblown Baccarat crystal bottle topped with a solid gold collar and a sprinkling of 138 brilliant diamonds.

Meanwhile, the master perfumers at Guerlain, who boast five generations of fragrance experience and have created over 800 perfumes in their time, produced Le Secret de la Reine for the occasion. The bee-shaped “perfume jewel” (pictured) can be worn as a brooch or pendant, with the fragrance of your choice encased in the heart of the bee. The piece contains over 14 carats of diamonds, produced by the finest jewellers over a period of more than 500 hours.

The Omani fragrance house, Amouage, will also be present and has commissioned special hand-sculpted rock crystal bottles for the exhibition. The technique used to create the bottles dates back to the 18th century and only two other rock crystal bottles exist in the world – one of which sits in a private collection belonging to a member of an undisclosed royal family.

The Masters of Fragrances exhibition, which is organised by the luxury travel retail group DFS as part of its Masters Series of worldwide events, will take place on April 10 as a private, invitation-only gala at Manarat Al Saadiyat, after which the collection will be transferred to Abu Dhabi International Airport’s Terminal 1 until June 12.
