'It's been amazing': Watch Catriona Gray's first official Miss Universe photo shoot
The 25-year-old is back to work after her Manila homecoming parade
It’s been a whirlwind few months for Catriona Gray. The 25-year-old took the title of Miss Universe back in December, and ever since she’s been living her dream.
From moving to New York City to receiving a hero’s welcome in her home city of Manila, the former Miss Philippines has been enjoying the opportunities and responsibilities that come with the prestigious pageant title.
Last week, the beauty queen was given a homecoming parade during a visit to the Philippines, along with a personal congratulations from the country’s Vice President, Leni Robredo.
But almost four months on from her win, it’s time for Gray to get down to business. The model was back on set with Miss Universe this week for her first official photo shoot.
Although the images are yet to be officially released, Miss Universe has teased the shoot with a video released on its YouTube channel.
In the clip, the Filipino-Australian model can be seen styled in a number of different looks, from a glamorous red dress and matching lipstick, to natural, beachy vibes.
“It has been amazing, every single lay-out has a different vibe and I am so excited not only for you guys to see it, but for me to see it,” Gray said. “These are looks that I haven’t done before.”
The shoot was helmed by fashion photographer Fadil Barisha, who described Gray as a “superstar”.
“I was so looking forward to shooting her. I’ve been following her and I’m a big fan of her country and her people – and her beauty. In every angle she makes my job easier,” he said.
“She’s perfect. This woman has everything. She has the talent, the beauty, and the voice to become a superstar. It’s such a great honour.”
