Whether you’re a keen cyclist, or just fancy the chance to race one of the fastest riders in the sport, Yas Marina Circuit is the place to be this Sunday.

Current UAE Tour leader and Tour De France winner Tadej Pogacar is offering 200 cyclists the chance to see if they can outpace him at the Yas Island track on Sunday, February 28.

The free event, which will be strictly limited to 200 riders, will take place in three groups with each vying to catch up with the Slovenian champion as his whizzes around the capital’s famous Formula 1 track.

Each group of 65 riders will record their best lap time over two laps of the F1 circuit. The six fastest riders will then race in a final with Pogacar and other members of UAE Team Emirates.

The event, which is a collaboration between Adnoc and Train Yas, comes at the end of the UAE Tour, which currently sees Pogacar leading as the race enters its penultimate stage. Stage 5 starts from Fujairah International Marine Club on Thursday morning, before heading to the summit finish on Jebel Jais.

The event will take place at 7.30pm on Sunday, February 28. Pre-registration is essential and strictly limited to 200 riders. More information and registration information can be found at here.
