The chance to share your New Year wishes with the world doesn't come around every day, but that's exactly what Emaar Properties is offering for a second year, the development company has announced via the Burj Khalifa's social media platforms.

"Share with us your wishes to your loved ones, friends or even your country for New Year's 2020 and get the chance to be featured on the @BurjKhalifa", states the post, which runs alongside a video of the annual fireworks display at the tower.

To be in with the chance to have your words displayed in LED lights along the side of the world's tallest building, and beamed out to millions around the globe on New Year's Eve, you need to leave your comment on the Burj Khalifa Twitter, Facebook or Instagram accounts and use the hashtag #EmaarNYE2020. It must be limited to 35 characters.

While thousands will likely do the same, only a limited number will be selected to be displayed on the night.

People have already been busy sharing their festive wishes in a variety of different languages, from Arabic to English and Spanish.

One user wrote on Instagram: "May this year bring new happiness, new goals, new achievements and a lot of new inspirations on your life. Wishing you a year fully loaded with happiness. Wishing every day of the new year to be filled with success, happiness and prosperity."

Dubai Tourism announced on Tuesday that the fireworks show will take place this year, although further details are yet to be revealed.
