If you had an unlimited amount of money to spend on housing, which would be the better deal? Living next to the soon-to-open Louvre Abu Dhabi or the record-breaking Burj Khalifa?

Real estate portal Propertyfinder analysed its search and price data through the first half of 2017 to see what it costs to call the Louvre Abu Dhabi a neighbour.

The closest communities to the museum include the Residences at St Regis Saadiyat, Saadiyat Beach Residences, and Saadiyat Beach Villas. They currently fetch some of the highest property prices in the capital, anyway.

Based on median price per square foot on rent prices in September 2017, an apartment on Saadiyat Island was 16 per cent more expensive than one on Dubai's Palm Jumeirah, but 11 per cent cheaper than an apartment in Downtown Dubai, the locale of the tallest building.

So, yes, even though the rent on Saadiyat is quite expensive, it’s still a cheaper option than living next to the Burj Khalifa. However, with the Louvre Abu Dhabi completed, and the Guggenheim and Zayed National museums also planned, who knows what this could mean for the island.
