Spice up your breakfast

We have found an inspired place to have the most important meal of the day – on Saturdays, at least. BU, normally a purveyor of nightlife, is serving up a solid start to the day with a pan-Latin twist. The pancakes (Dh40) with spicy chocolate, dulce de leche and date ice cream are the crowd favourite. The huevos rancheros (Dh45) are a treat and the full Mexican breakfast (Dh85) is a prolific plate of beef tenderloin, chicken enchilada, fried beans, guacamole and red rice. We intend to visit again to make our way through the full à la carte menu of what the proprietors are calling The Breakfast Club. A fitness class in the capital worth cheering about

Dolphin Sports Academy has opted to venture into the cheerleading world of fitness to offer residents in the capital a heart-pumping, calorie-burning workout, the first of its kind here. Combining cheerleading techniques with aerobics, it’s more intense than Zumba, and will have you burning up to 700 calories a session. Sky-high dining returns to Dubai Marina

We're excited to hear that one of the world's coolest dining concepts is back in Dubai for another season. Dinner in the Sky, which we tried and tested when it was first launched, began its ascent in the emirate again earlier this week. Now that the weather is more favourable, the crew is hoisting daredevil diners to go up about 50 metres into the air for a 90- to 100-minute lunch, afternoon tea or dinner experience. Let Eli get you toe-tapping at Palazzo Versace’s Q’s

If you're up for a little soulful music this weekend, you may want to make your way to Q's Bar and Lounge to catch Eli Teplin, the latest entertainer on the bill at the popular Palazzo Versace jazz bar. Touted by the legendary composer, musician and record producer Quincy Jones as an artist who "sings from the soul" and "writes from the heart", taking in a set or two sounds like a great way to spend an evening this weekend.
