Rihanna celebrated the launch of her long-awaited skincare line, Fenty Skin, by speaking to fans from the side of the Burj Khalifa.
A video of the star was projected on to the side of the world's tallest building on Wednesday evening, coinciding with the opening of pop-up Fenty Skin Island at The Dubai Mall Promenade.
“Hello Dubai, I am so honoured to be projected on the Burj Khalifa for the launch of Fenty Skin,” she said from the 828-metre structure. “Please go check out my Fenty Skin Island at The Dubai Mall Promenade.”
Fans of the singer's beauty range can now get their hands on her skincare products at Sephora stores across the region.
Taking place from Wednesday, January 6, to Saturday, January 16, The Island by Fenty Skin pop-up, part of the Dubai Shopping Festival, will allow visitors to explore the range created by the singer, including Fenty Skin Total Cleans'r, Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum and Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturiser Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen.
In addition to being able to try the products, visitors can also take part in interactive experiences, while sipping on a drink from the in-situ tropical juice bar.
Rihanna entered the world of beauty in 2017, when she launched her Fenty line with a foundation in 40 shades, an inclusive shade spectrum that was almost unheard of at the time.
In July 2020, she announced Fenty Skin, and called on fellow musicians A$AP Rocky and Lil Nas X to appear in the launch video.
The star is not the first to have their image projected on to the Burj Khalifa. In November, the landmark lit up to celebrate the 55th birthday of Bollywood legend Shah Rukh Khan, who was in Dubai for the occasion.
In the past, South Korean boyband BTS have also seen their image appear on the building, along with the entire Kolkata Knight Riders team.
