Is this the best value brunch in Dubai? If you want more than a light breakfast but without the financial and temporal outlay, not to mention the detrimental effect on your waistline, The Bench brunch at The Pavilion in Downtown Dubai is a great idea.
Simply turn up between 10.30am to 2.30pm on a Saturday and enjoy an unlimited spread of food — and a coffee or tea of your choice — for just Dh99 per person including taxes. First, as the name suggests, there’s a long “bench” absolutely laden with cereals, yogurt, fruit, granola, sandwiches, pastries, cheese and fresh juices.
Then, choose something from “the kitchen” — there are nine choices from pancakes to penne Al forno. I chose the quinoa salad with beetroot and goat’s cheese — and the huge bowl could have fed a horse.
My only tip would be to get there earlier rather than later, as when we arrived at lunchtime, most tables were full; by the time we left, the hungry hordes had attacked the buffet from all sides. Some of what was left looked less than fresh.
