It’s Earth Hour time again this weekend and The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal is offering diners the opportunity to switch on their senses while switching off the lights.
From 8.30pm on Saturday, March 25 all non-essential lights at the resort will be switched off for an hour - and that’s when the culinary fun on the beach begins.
Guests will be served a three-course dinner, featuring a secret menu prepared using energy-saving methods and organic ingredients.
All funds from the Dh300 per head blind dinner will be donated to the hotel’s social and environmental responsibility program, Community Footprints.
Earth Hour is a worldwide movement uniting people to protect the planet, and is organized by World Wildlife Fund. Engaging the mainstream community on a broad range of environmental issues, Earth Hour was famously started as a lights-off event in Sydney, Australia in 2007. Since then it has grown to engage more than 7000 cities and towns worldwide, and the one-hour event continues to remain the key driver of the now larger movement.
