The third annual Taste New Zealand culinary competition kicks off this month for professional chefs across the UAE. To enter the competition, chefs need to come up with a unique (and tasty) dish using New Zealand produce. The theme of this year's competition is Create, Plate, Picture. To enter, chefs simply need to submit a picture of a dish they've created using New Zealand produce by 5pm on March 20. Ten finalists will be chosen from the entries to compete in cook-off at The International Center for Culinary Arts in Dubai on April 11.
The Taste New Zealand competition is designed to raise awareness of New Zealand’s diverse produce and food products among chefs and food industry leaders. Foodies can find many notable ingredients from New Zealand at stores across the UAE including beef, lamb, chicken, venison, green-lipped mussels and clams. king salmon, kiwi fruit and manuka honey.
The winner of Taste New Zealand will receive a round-trip ticket to New Zealand. The winner will be announced at Purobeach in the Conrad hotel on April 13.
