What started out as a love for sharing home-cooked Pakistani cuisine from the back of a food truck with the multi-cultural residents of Dubai has transformed into a sit-down and delivery restaurant for Moti Roti owner Tahir Shah.

The owner, who has taken inspiration from his mother’s recipes to give a modern twist to Pakistani flavours with roti (flatbread) wraps, brown rice bowls, salads, desi sliders and Punjabi pizzas, opened the first Moti Roti restaurant in Jumeirah Lake Towers today (April 6).

Moti Roti has been a popular haunt for residents visiting community markets and food truck festivals around town for the past few years.

The staff prepares fresh flatbreads stuffed with vegetarian and meat options in the food truck. The new restaurant will not only offer desi street food options like chaat and masala fries, but a healthy menu, where customers can personalise their meals and swap the rice and roti with salad.
