Ready for more food trucks? They’re coming. Flip International, a food and beverage management company, has just launched Food Truck Co. The company already has three trucks operating in the soft launch phase with plans for five more next year.

The company’s co-founders Jamal Wick and Amjad Barakat say: “We have been monitoring the success of the food truck industry in the US market for the past few years. We’re seeing the food truck phenomenon really building momentum now in the UAE and across the GCC, and we’ve been encouraged by the initial response to the soft roll-out of our first three concepts.”

One of those concepts — Sir Loin & Sons — is a gourmet ‘meatery’ with high quality meat and burgers with a six-metre long Texas-inspired smoker that cooks the meat slowly over low heat to impart more flavour. They have also launched Go Nuts, a dessert truck focusing on Nutella pizzas, giant cookies and ‘savage shakes,’ and El Cubano, a Cuban street food truck that dishes up empanadas, churros and more.

Sir Loin & Sons and El Cubano turn up weekly at Ripe Market and the food truck jam in Dubai, while Go Nuts has a permanent home on The Boardwalk at Palm Jumeirah. Wick and Barakat say, “Our vision is to leave a lasting legacy in the F&B industry by creating unique and edgy concepts, while setting the benchmark with the highest quality of street food.”

The team says the next five trucks will launch in the first quarter of 2017.
