Shangri-La Dubai’s Jewellery Box High Tea is the latest afternoon-tea concept in town. As the name suggests, the event will serve an array of bites and beverages within a glittering custom-created box with myriad drawers.
Formulated by the hotel’s in-house patissier, the concept aims to blend food and fashion, and will serve up sweet and savoury treats. In addition to traditional English scones with clotted cream and jam, enjoy delicacies such as salmon-rolled squid ink bread with cream cheese, asparagus and caviar; sous vide beef with mustard mayo in a waffle basket; tomato consommé with paprika straws, butter cookies; a macadamia nut tart with Chantilly milk chocolate; and a café latte panna cotta.
Also nestled within the golden drawers are a green tea fruit roll and a lipstick-shaped jelly.
