Machines have taken over many of our everyday tasks, so it should come as no surprise that they can also pour us a drink these days. Raise a glass to the first the robotic bartender in the Mena region. Cavalli Club in Fairmont Dubai has brought the first robot bartender to the Mena region this week.
The machine mixologist, which goes by the name Toni, uses robotic arms to shake, stir and serve cocktails and mocktails in seconds: it can whip up to 60 cocktails in an hour. Toni has been programmed to make some of Cavalli Club’s signature drinks and also gives consumers the opportunity to create customised drinks by picking the ingredients they want.
Once guests pay for a drink, they receive a voucher and can input the drink they want using iPads for Toni to get on with her job. What's more, a screen reveals when a drink is being made, so guests can avoid having to ask for it again. The robot also cleans the shaker after every drink, to keep things hygienic.
Toni was introduced for the club’s 10th anniversary, which saw grand celebrations headlined by DJ Fatman Scoop earlier this month. UAE residents will be glad to know that the futuristic bartender is now a permanent addition to the Cavalli Club team.
This is not the first time the nightlife destination, which was named the second-best club in the world and number one in the MENA region at the 2019 100 World's Best Club Awards, has embraced technology. It launched the Cavalli Club Dance app earlier this year to better connect with consumers. The app makes it possible for consumers to order their drinks online while they’re at Cavalli Club and gives them real-time updates, access to the establishment’s events and competitions, and information about its music, membership and food.
