Ripe, the UAE organic market that successfully launched in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi last year, has just started a home delivery service (Dubai only, for the time being).
Visit www.ripeme.com and you can order and pay for a vegetable box online. Depending upon where you live, these will either be delivered to your door on specific days or to a collection point of your choice (Down to Earth Organic shop / Dubai Garden Centre / Al Ain).
According to Ripe's website, a small box (Dh80) will provide enough fresh produce for two adults for the week, while a large one (Dh130) will feed a family of four or five.
The contents of the box vary from week to week, according to the seasons. Because of the weather, the range of ingredients is at a peak at the moment and the boxes should contain items such as: cucumber, French beans, aubergine, kale, beetroot, beef tomatoes, courgette flowers and carrots.
Ripe markets are held weekly in both emirates: for the Abu Dhabi market head to the Desert Garden Centre on a Friday morning, or if you live in Dubai visit the Dubai Garden Centre on a Saturday (9.30am - 1pm).
