Dubai Foodie News: Trader Vic’s anniversary promotion, Chickalicious has pumpkin-themed Thanksgiving desserts and a new restaurant opening

• Trader Vic's at Crowne Plaza Dubai is celebrating its 20th anniversary this weekend. The restaurant will feature half priced beverages from 6pm onwards tonight and tomorrow. Their Cuban band will set the mood with Latin tunes and there's a salsa competition at 11pm each night. The winning couples will score a weekend stay at the hotel. Trader Vic's is in the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road on the 3rd floor in the Residence Tower. It's open from 6pm to 2am. • The Italian restaurant Sapori di BiCE has launched an afternoon tea/baby shower package that includes an assortment of teas, pastries, cakes and finger sandwiches with a pink or blue theme. The sandwich menu includes smoked salmon with dill butter, sliced cucumber and chopped mint with mint butter, roast chicken, and golden raisin salad sandwiches. Dh250 for every two guests. • Chickalicious, a chic dessert shop at The Village Mall Jumeirah, is offering pumpkin-based American Thanksgiving treats from Sunday onward. • The Arabic restaurant Al Maeda has opened its doors at the Doubletree by Hilton Dubai Jumeirah Beach hotel. Meaning ‘the dining table’ in Arabic, Al Maeda is an open kitchen concept and is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday. The terrace offers shisha complete with a view of the sea.
