• The Act Dubai has just launched a new signature tasting menu called Cooking in Motion. The new Peruvian set menu features signature dishes prepared with modern cookery techniques and presented in a playful way. The impressive six-course menu includes more than a dozen different dishes including liquid sweetcorn ravioli with chipotle and crispy corn; salmon Aburi with rolled causa, ceviche mayonnaise and coriander; Wagyu tenderloin tataki with yuzu ponzu; and citrus fruit ceviche with yogurt sponge, caramelised black sesame and lychee sorbet. The Cooking in Motion menu is available on Thursdays and Sundays from 8:30pm to midnight. Dh450 per person, includes one signature drink. • Burger & Lobster, a concept out of London, is coming to Dubai. Aptly named, the eatery is famous for its burgers and lobsters — there are only three main items on the menu: burgers; whole lobsters; and lobster rolls (chunks of butter-soaked lobster stuffed in a hot dog bun). They will serve chips and salad too. The burgers are made from cornfed Angus steak and served in brioche buns that are baked daily in the restaurant and the lobster will be flown in from the Atlantic Ocean. • JW Marriott Marquis has launched a new afternoon tea with a twist called Tea Party On 68. The new afternoon tea serves up high quality cuts of beef from a selection of miniature roasts. Desserts include a chocolate river; a cheesecake trolley and a variety of candy and sweets. As the name suggests, Tea Party on 68 is served on the 68th floor, giving guests stunning panoramic views from the top of the world's tallest hotel. • If you want to get away from the brunch crowd, head to Zuma Dubai to try their new Dantai menu. Available only in the restaurant's lounge on Fridays, the new set menu features classic Zuma dishes and a few new additions, including Irish beef tartare with nori, caviar and onsen egg; roasted leek with saikyo miso and fresh truffle; and crispy duck with sesame plum glaze, fennel salad and pickled cherries. • Spirito Lounge and Kitchen in Media One Hotel is launching a new concept called Santo Sunday. Starting December 13, guests will get an endless supply of Brazilian cuisine that changes from week to week. Signature bites include beef croquettes with coriander, mint and lime; burrata with mango salsa and rocket pesto; and cod ceviche with banana, palm heart and cashew nuts. • This season, Cafe Rouge is featuring live jazz performances every Tuesday. A three-piece jazz band will play while guests dine on inspired French dishes — either inside or on the outside terrace. The menu includes bites such as garlic crevettes in smoked chilli butter with garlic mushrooms and grilled rye bread; baked salmon with asparagus, plum tomatoes, pea shoots and cold pressed olive oil; roast chicken breast with mushrooms, leeks, herb and cream sauce and mustard mashed potatoes; and crème brûlée or chocolate fondant for dessert.
