Baker & Spice restaurant will have a special pop-up shop at Dubai’s invitation-only Capital Club in DIFC that will be open to club members and the public from March 8 until March 12.
At Baker & Spice, which opened in 2009 and now has three branches in Dubai, chefs use organic, local and seasonal ingredients to create ever-changing menus focused on simple, no-frills dishes that will translate into breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The Capital Club’s general manager Emma Cullen says collaborating with the restaurant is a natural fit. “Baker & Spice are excellent at what they do,” she says. “The pop-up is a sensory synergy of both brands’ ethos. We’ve hosted several local and international guest chefs, but this is absolutely the first dedicated pop-up.”
The menu at Capital Club will feature favourites from Baker & Spice as well as special items such as sour cherry and ricotta croissants; green shakshouka, made with four poached eggs, kousa and onion salsa; and shakshouka matbukha – poached eggs served with tomatoes, red peppers, garlic, chilli and olive oil.
“The Capital Club is a private business club,” says Cullen. “But from time-to-time we like to experiment with new opportunities for our members and the DIFC community. This experience is a one-off but we expect to continue to showcase local and international chefs.”
• From 7.30am March 8until March 12, The Baker & Spice pop-up on the third floor of the Capital Club will be open to everyone. Reservations are a must. The dress code is private club smart-casual. For reservations, call 04 364 0111.
