She may have vowed to never do an interview again, but like all good vegans, Beyonce loves talking about being vegan. So this week, she has turned to Instagram, to encourage her fans to make like her, an go meat-free.
In what may be the greatest publicity stunt for veganism since Greggs created a vegan sausage roll, Beyonce and Jay Z are offering one fan free concert tickets “for life” if they go vegan.
Taking a break from her usual #OOTD Instagram posts, Beyonce uploaded an image promoting vegan meal planning service, Greenprint, with the caption, “What is your Greenprint? Click the link in my bio for a chance to win tickets to any JAY and/or my shows for life.”
Greenprint promotes a vegan (plant-based) diet for primarily environmental purposes. Rather than fully committing to full veganism, Beyonce wants fans to reveal their “Greenprint” and make 'vegan choices, those could be meat-free Mondays or selected vegan meals.
In the book, The Greenprint: Plant-Based Diet, Best Body, Better World by Marco Borges (Beyonce's trainer), Beyonce and Jay Z explain why they have gone vegan in the introduction.
“Having children has changed our lives more than anything else,” they wrote in the book’s introduction.
“We used to think of health as a diet – some worked for us, some didn’t. Once we looked at health as the truth, instead of a diet, it became a mission for us to share that truth and lifestyle with as many people as possible.”
The couple are parents to daughter Blue Ivy, seven as well as twins Rumi and Sir Carter, one.
The Lemonade has spoken about being vegan on Instagram before. Saying she was going 22 days of veganism ahead of Coachella. At the time she promoted 22 Days Nutrition, another of Borges' plant-based projects.
Naturally, there are terms and conditions. The tickets aren’t actually “for life”, rather 30 years, and you would only get access to one concert per tour. Entrants also have to live in the USA.
